Always wash your hands thoroughly after handling used cat litter, as cat feces may contain Toxoplasma gondii—a parasite that can cause toxoplasmosis. The litter box should be placed in an area of the home away from hardwood floors and major family living spaces (bathroom, laundry, basement or enclosed porch). All cat litters track, as does Perfect Litter. However, because of its light weight, your cat will typically track it only in the direct vicinity of the litter box; allowing easy clean up. Transition Instructions

Dispose of your old cat litter and thoroughly wash and dry the litter box. Pour a layer of Perfect Litter on the bottom of the litter box and cover with your old litter; 1/3 Perfect Litter to 2/3 old litter. As you clean the box, refill with Perfect Litter until the old litter is no longer being used. If your cat reluctant or hesitant, sprinkle a little catnip in the box.
