Precautions

Always wash your hands thoroughly after handling used cat litter, as cat feces may contain Toxoplasma gondii—a parasite that can cause toxoplasmosis. Pregnant or nursing women, as well as children and anyone with a weakened immune system, should avoid handling used cat litter. Always handle litter in a ventilated area to avoid inhalation. Fill dry litter box with 1 inch of Casual Home Pine litter. Scoop the solid waste and sift through the sawdust daily. Shake the litter box side-by-side for more added freshness. Dispose used litter in the trash and refill if necessary.

Transition Instructions

To transition you cat to use Casual Home Pine litter: Fill the base of one litter box with the Casual Home Pine Litter. Add a layer of your old litter on top of the pine litter and do not mix. Allow your cat time to sift through the litter. Gradually reduce the amount of old litter and add more pine litter into the litter box day by day, adjusting when necessary. Continue this process repeatedly until the old litter mixture is fully replaced by the pine litter.
